Defender Burghley Horse Trials has expanded its food offering with a premium, unique hamper experience from Yorkshire-based, Michelin-starred chef Tommy Banks and his team at Made In Oldstead.

The hampers will provide a luxury and unique picnic for spectators to purchase in advance of the weekend, to be enjoyed in front of the action. They will contain a multi-course menu, with snacks, plus an option to include a paired Banks Brothers canned wine pairing, and sparkling wine add-on.

Priced at £40pp (each hamper is £80), the hamper’s ingredients have been grown and foraged from Made in Oldstead’s farm and gardens or sourced from trusted local suppliers. The hampers comprise of everything from mid-morning snacks to a tasty lunch packed with reimagined classics, and of course afternoon tea.

Enjoy dishes such as chicken liver parfait topped with hedgerow jelly, pork and madeira pie with fermented sweet chilli sauce and the Oldstead ‘Caesar’ salad with lemon verbena chicken and St. Andrew’s Cheddar. For something sweeter, delights such as honey cheesecake, fruit scones with clotted cream and jam, and chocolate brownies are on hand for afternoon sweet treats.
