S Parade 2

British Breeding Stallion Parade

Since its inception in 2008, the British Breeding Stallion Parade has become a popular feature in Ring 2 and takes place between the age classes of the Burghley Young Event Horse Finals. For breeders in the sport the Parade is a not to be missed showcase of the top Eventing and Showjumping sires as well as up and coming new sires.

This year we remember some of the stallions that have paraded in years gone by. Every Stallion is graded and approved by their appropriate studbook to uphold the standards of British Breeding and on Parade day perform on the flat and over fences for the audience.

Some of the best Event Sires in Europe have been shown at Burghley, including Ramiro B, sire of Nations Cup level Showjumpers and 5* Eventers and ranked 6th in the World Event Sire rankings in 2016; the impressive Olympian and incredibly versatile Jaguar Mail provides strong Thoroughbred bloodlines, and the full Thoroughbred, Power Blade, already has progeny competing worldwide in Eventing and Showjumping as well as in the Show Ring.

Up With The Lark is a classically bred Advanced Eventer who has already produced elite offspring in the British Breeding Futurity. LePrince des Bois has proven himself with results at 5* level, including Burghley and has offspring coming through the levels; Grafenstolz proved his own performance winning the German Bundeschampionat with Michael Jung and has become a popular Eventing sire; Primitive Proposal, the Thoroughbred son of the great Primitive Rising, and Future Illusion, sire of International Eventer, Uptown Girl.

Not forgetting sires such as Sula Blue, Timolin, Hocus Pocus, Future Gravitas and some super pony stallions including Glencarrig Dolphin. The Parade has often attracted some top Jumping Stallions that have a high percentage of Thoroughbred blood which are increasingly popular as eventing sires, such as Michael Whitaker’s former ride, Cornetto King.

British Breeding is thrilled to offer the Stallion Parade at Burghley Horse Trials to give these wonderful stallions a chance to be seen. Their progeny can often be seen competing on the same day in the Burghley Young Event Horse Finals and sometimes also in the main Three Day Event.

We look forward to 2021 and bringing you next year’s Stallion Parade.
