Burghley TV combines uninterrupted livestream footage of this most prestigious CCI5* event with expert commentary, analysis and behind-the-scenes footage and interviews.
As well as all the live action of Defender Burghley; from the first horse inspection on 4 September to the final prize-giving on 8 September, Burghley TV includes an exclusive preview of the cross-country course, designed for the by the USA’s Derek di Grazia. There are also in-depth interviews with some of the sport’s most popular characters.
Burghley TV will be a much more detailed and ambitious production than other “event livestreams”, with the outstanding TV presenter Nick Luck fronting an entertaining and informative daily magazine programme from Defender Burghley during the event, alongside “roving reporter” Rosie Tapner.
The renowned Dubarry Burghley Young Event Horse Final, will also be livestreamed, as will some of Defender Burghley’s exciting main arena demonstrations, including British Dressage Supremo Carl Hester, Cheltenham Gold Cup winning trainer Henrietta Knight and Team GB's star couple William & Pippa Funnell.
For anyone wishing to “watch again”, a replay service will also be available on Burghley TV, with footage quickly online after each session.
A comprehensive library of historic Burghley Horse Trials footage, stretching back to 1990 will also be part of the Burghley TV package.
Burghley TV is the official place to watch live coverage of Defender Burghley Horse Trials in 2024 and is a subscription based streaming service.
Buying a Burghley TV subscription gives you uninterrupted access to all of our exclusive coverage from the competition, for 12 months from when you first subscribe. This includes access to exclusive pre-event content including the cross-country course preview, special pre-event features, livestream during the event, a daily round-up magazine programme, expert commentary and insights.
You will also be able to access our archive of previous years’ competitions, stretching back to 1990. Full footage from the 2019, 2022 & 2023 events, including all the dressage, cross-country and showjumping rounds will be available.

The best way to watch the Defender Burghley Horse Trials 2024 is by subscribing to Burghley TV. The event won’t be available to view via BBC Red Button this year. There will be a highlights programme broadcast on BBC2 on Sunday 8 September 2024.

To sign up you will need to set up an account by entering your email address and your chosen password. You will then be asked to enter the name on the card you are paying with and then your card number. On the same line as you enter your card number, please ensure you scroll across to the right to enter the card expiry date, CVC number and then your postcode where the card is registered. You will then be able to press ‘complete purchase.’
From the moment you create and pay for your subscription, you will be able to come back to your favourite moments from the whole event again and again for 356 days or until the following year’s event has begun. Your subscription will automatically renew.

No, unfortunately you cannot download programmes but you can save favourites.

The first time you sign up, you'll be prompted to set a password:

On the next page, enter your password and click Sign In.
If you've already created a password, and it's not working, you can reset or set a password to log-in on that page or use the email link method below.

Enter your email address on the login page
If you are an active customer, you will be immediately sent an email link that will log you in, once clicked. Open your email inbox, and click the login link.
You will then be logged in to watch your purchased/rented/subscribed video content within your Vimeo OTT Library.
If you’re having trouble with your password, consider the following possibilities:
Did you sign up with a typo in your email address, or an address different than the one you’re using to sign in? Try to find the confirmation email from when you signed up to verify the address you should be using.
Punctuation makes a difference. If you signed up with email.email@gmail.com, but are trying to sign in with emailemail@gmail.com, our system will not consider those the same addresses.
The end of your email address matters. For example, @gmail.com and @googlemail.com may be the same to Google, but our system will see them as different email addresses.

Try clearing your browser's cache and restarting it. Please also make sure you are using the latest, up-to-date version of a supported browser.
Make sure you're on a fast, reliable internet connection. When a video plays in lower than expected quality, it’s likely because your Internet speed (bandwidth) or computer processing speed cannot support higher quality playback
If you can, try switching to a different internet or data connection.
Manually switch the quality of the video playback to a lower quality.
Try browsing in an Incognito or private browsing window. This will disable your extensions and clear your cache and cookies, which often improves performance.
If you have any internet filtering devices for your home (such as Disney Circle or Net Nanny), please turn these off as they can interfere with video playback or connectivity. Once done, close and re-open your browser and try visiting our website again.
If you have any other devices to try, sometimes that makes a difference.
Apps
Logout of the app and log back in.
Close the app, and turn off the Wi-Fi on your device. Turn Wi-Fi back on and open the app.
Restart your device and open the app.
Check if there is an update for the app
Try uninstalling the app entirely and downloading it again
Also, if you have any internet filtering devices for your home (such as Disney Circle or Net Nanny), please turn these off as they can cause issues with video playback or connectivity.
Chromecast
Make sure your device and Chromecast are on the same Wi-Fi network.
Make sure you have a fast and stable internet connection with a download speed of at least 500kbps.
Unplug Chromecast and plug back in.
Restart your wireless router or modem.
Note: At this time, we do not support Chromecast devices that some TVs have built-in. While it may work, our player is not developed to support this and we cannot troubleshoot any issues that may arise
