Terms & Conditions

This competition is administered by Burghley Horse Trials Ltd and is subject to the following terms and conditions:

  • The opening date for entries is 18 March 2024. The closing date for entries is midnight 5 April 2024.
  • Only one entry per company will be accepted.
  • This competition is open to businesses that are 5 years old or less and have not previously exhibited at DBHT or an equivalent size event or show.
  • Entrants must complete the online form in full to be considered by the judging panel. Information provided must be accurate.
  • Details of all entries will be kept confidential and shared only with our judging panel.
  • A judging panel of four judges will include a Chair of Judges who is an independent judge and not connected to Burghley Horse Trials Ltd.
  • All completed entries submitted before the closing date will be reviewed and considered by the panel of judges who will select a shortlist of 5. The selection will be based on subjective suitability. The winner will be chosen by the independent judge from the shortlist of 5
  • The judging panel reserve the right to contact entrants for additional information which may aid the selection of the shortlist and/or the winner.
  • The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into or feedback given regarding the selection of shortlisted entries or winners.
  • The winner will be informed that they have won by email on 15th April 2024.
  • The prize must be accepted by 19th April 2024. In the event that the prize is not accepted, the judges reserve the right to select another winner from the original shortlist.
  • The winner will be required to set up their stand from Monday 2nd or Tuesday 3rd September and to trade from 5th – 8th September inclusive.
  • No transport or delivery costs will be covered by the Event Organiser (Burghley Horse Trials Ltd)
  • The prize stand is non-refundable and cannot be exchanged, transferred, or resold for commercial gain.
  • The winning business must adhere to the standard terms and conditions of exhibiting at the show and must not have exhibited at BHT in previous years.
  • BHT Ltd reserves the right to alter or vary the content or timing of the whole or any part of the prize in circumstances beyond its reasonable control without any obligation.
  • Should the event be partially or fully cancelled Burghley Horse Trials Ltd are not responsible for any costs incurred by the winner e.g. stock, staff costs, travel costs etc.
  • BHT Ltd does not accept any responsibility for any loss or damage to personal property brought to this event.
  • The winner must consent to be photographed, filmed, or recorded for marketing, broadcast, or security purposes during, and before, the show, as required. By entering the competition the winner authorises such photography and recording and permits the BHT to use their images, likeness, and voice for archival and promotional purposes in any and all media, without liability, compensation, or credit.
  • By attending BHT you do so entirely at your own risk. BHT (the Organisers) shall not be liable for any injury, damage or loss to you, other than in respect of any injury or loss arising directly as a result of our own negligence. You agree to take full responsibility for your own safety, property, health, and wellbeing during and after the event and, if unsure of your own ability or condition to attend, to take appropriate third-party advice.
