Luxury fashion brand Holland Cooper has further cemented its support for British equestrian sport, by announcing a new association with what is widely acknowledged to be the World’s most challenging 5* equestrian event, Defender Burghley Horse Trials.
The partnership will see Holland Cooper sponsor the iconic ‘Leaf Pit’ fence on the cross country course and once again, the brand will be selling its range of British tweeds and tartans on stand H24. The quintessentially British brand will also be using the event to showcase its new range of technical equestrian clothing, which launches this month.
Defender Burghley Horse Trials takes place in Stamford, Lincolnshire each September, attracting more than 160,000 visitors over a four-day period. Situated within the magnificent parkland of Burghley House, Defender Burghley is renowned not only as a major international televised sporting event, but also as the premier occasion in the autumn social calendar.
This year (5th-8th September 2019) up to 80 elite horse and riders drawn from across the globe will be taking part. Many will be dashing back from the European Eventing Championships at Luhmühlen in Germany, providing the ideal opportunity to welcome the latest generation of European medallists back onto UK soil.
This year Badminton winner Piggy French looks likely to be a strong contender for the Defender Perpetual Challenge Trophy, while ever competitive Oliver Townend will be battling to regain his 2017 title, after finishing runner up last year. It could be a fairytale finish for eventing’s golden couple Tim and Jonelle Price, who are both looking stronger than ever, with a clutch of titles garnered already this year. Former Badminton winner Jonelle and last year’s Burghley champion Tim certainly look hard to beat.
Founder and designer, Jade Holland Cooper said:
“Burghley Horse Trials is the ultimate equestrian event and I am privileged to not only become an official sponsor, but to showcase my new line, Holland Cooper Equestrian, for the first time at the event this year.
“Having grown up around horses, eventing has always been very close to my heart and over the years, Holland Cooper has cultivated a huge equestrian following. I’m therefore thrilled to share this latest line with those that will appreciate the technical detail, coupled with great British style that this new range offers.
“We will of course be bringing our range of tweeds and tartans again and I am excited that the Holland Cooper stand will be the biggest yet adding to the shopping sensation that is Burghley.”
Elizabeth Inman, Event Director of Defender Burghley Horse Trials added:
“We are delighted to welcome Holland Cooper on board as a new sponsor this year. We know its range of stylish tweeds are hugely popular with many of our visitors and competitors; the brand’s clothing and accessories often feature in our ‘best dressed’ rider contest. We’re also thrilled that the new equestrian range is being showcased for the first time at the event and we’re delighted to be able to grow our relationship further and to work with one of Britain’s most exciting, home-grown fashion brands.”
