International Coverage Wins New York Award
We were delighted to receive the news recently that the Defender Burghley 2017 International Highlights Show has won the Bronze Medal in the Sports Coverage category at the prestigious New York Festivals World’s Best TV & Films™.
The Festival, which was first launched in 1957, dedicates itself to celebrating and rewarding exceptionally creative content of all lengths, with submissions coming in from over 50 countries around the World. The GrandJury® responsible for awarding the prizes is made up of a broad range of over 200 industry professionals ranging from directors to producers, journalists to writers, and composers to programming executives.
Commenting on the win Elizabeth Inman, Defender Burghley Horse Trials Event Director, said:
“David Goldstrom, Television in Europe, has been responsible for our television production for many years, filming the event for terrestrial TV and latterly our online channels. David officially retired from his role at Defender Burghley Horse Trials in 2017 and received our ‘Unsung Hero Award’. To be recognised by his film industry peers at an international level is a fitting way to mark the enormous contribution he made to the event and broadcast coverage of equestrian sport generally.”
The 2018 NYF® Bronze Medal is the fourth time that Television in Europe’s coverage of Defender Burghley has received industry recognition.
