Meet our 2022 Guinea Pigs
The ‘guinea pig’ is a test rider who is there to give the ground jury (the judges) the chance to compare notes on the dressage test being performed. This year's ground jury consists of Andrew Bennie (NZL) Katrin Eichinger Kniely (AUT) and Judy Hancock (GBR).
This year the Defender Burghley dressage phase was test-ridden by Harry Meade and Tenareze.
“It was a great opportunity to get into an atmospheric arena and ride through the test,” said Harry. “I was really pleased with how Tenareze worked and there was some very useful feedback from the judges.”
Harry represented Great Britain at the 2014 World Championships, the same year he placed third at Badminton. He has multiple Burghley completions, most recently in 2018 when he finished sixth.
Tenareze is an Anglo Arab fifteen-year-old gelding by Jaguar Mail out of Utopie du Maury, owned by Nigella Hall, David Bernstein and Sophie Caruth.
