The ‘guinea pig’ is essentially a test rider who is there to give the ground jury the chance to compare notes on the dressage test being performed on the first day of dressage (Thursday 5th September).

This year the Defender Burghley dressage phase will be test-ridden by the reigning World Champion combination of Great Britain’s Ros Canter and Allstar B. The pair earnt this title at last year’s World Equestrian Games in Tryon winning both individual and team Gold.

Allstar B (stable name Alby) is a 14-year-old gelding owned by Ros Canter and Caroline Moore. In 2018 he finished the season as the British Eventing top points winner for the year. Ros and Allstar B are now seeking qualification for the Tokyo Olympics in 2020; Ros has recently taken a short break from competition to have her daughter in early July of this year.
