BEF Medal of Honour Awarded to Event Director
Elizabeth Inman, Event Director of Defender Burghley Horse Trials, has been awarded a BEF Medal of Honour in recognition of her dedication to the Event over the last 35 years.
The BEF Medal of Honour was first awarded in 1949 and is presented each year in recognition of outstanding services to the British Equestrian Federation or one of its Member bodies.
Following presentation of her award from BEF Interim Chair, Ed Warner, Elizabeth commented:
“I feel hugely honoured to have been recognised in this way by the British Equestrian Federation. I have enjoyed working with the Sport of Eventing, firstly through the British Horse Society and latterly British Eventing, and regard it as a privilege to head up this unique Event.”
The presentation took place in the main arena of the London International Horse Show, Olympia, together with presentations to fellow 2017 recipients: Para-Dressage athletes Julie Payne, Suzanna Hext and Erin Orford, Peter Whitehead for his medical support to Team GB covering 15 years, Alex Colquhoun for aiding development of British Young Rider Teams and Giles Rowsell for his commitment to Eventing.
Defender Burghley 2018 takes place from Thursday August 30th to Sunday September 2nd. The Box Office will open at the end of April.
